Wegagen Bank SC was established on the 11th of June 1997 It came to life as a result of the entrepreneurial wit of sixteen 16 founding members who recognized the critical role that financial institutions would play towards creating a sustained economic development and were able to put in an initial paid-in capital of Birr thirty million (Birr 30 Million).

Established under the banking proclamation of Licensing and Supervision, Proclamation No. 84/1994, the Bank was registered with the National Bank of Ethiopia on April 30, 1997. The Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Bank were signed on April 15th, 1997 and registered with the Addis Ababa Bureau of Trade, Industry and Tourism on April 15, 1997, Registration Number 1/34/4/89.

The Bank, as it started back then, operated through its Head Office located in Gofa Sefer, Addis Ababa. In October 2017, Wegagen moved to its 23 Storey Headquarters Building in front of Addis Ababa Stadium, Ras Mekonnen Street.

1. Resource Mobilization & Branch Follow-Up Officer-II-(IFB)

Job Purpose

Enhance mobilization of deposits in collaboration with districts/branches; increase efforts for sourcing new and maintaining existing depositors by developing strong relationships and engaging in personal selling.

Job Requirement

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Management, marketing, Economics or related fields with two (2) years relevant work experience.

Knowledge of Shari’ah law and principles pertaining to Interest Free Banking Operation is required.

Place of Work: Addis Ababa and Jimma District Offices

2. Customer Relationship Manager-I

Job Purpose

To maintain a strong and long-lasting relationship between the Bank and its customers, and contribute to increasing the size of the loan portfolio through credit marketing and meeting the service delivery quality standard in a cost effective way. The position is also responsible for ensuring loan quality through proper follow-up of individual customers.

Job Requirement

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Management or related field with Three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Place of Work: Hawassa District Office

3. Branch Manager III

Job Requirement

Qualifications and Experience: Master’s/Bachelor’s in Accounting ,  Management,  Business Administration, Economics or related field with four(4)/six(6) years of relevant work experience; of which one year of experience should be as Assistant Branch Manager or Customer Service Supervisor.

Place of Work: Branches in Addis Ababa, Shey Bench, Lare, Meint Shasha & Arsi-Negelle Branches
