Finance Assistant responsibilities include:

  • Assist staff on travel advances request and settlement process.
  • Facilitate and effect payment for trainings and workshop paricipants  
  • Assist on requests for VAT reimbursement with USAID per the established procedure.
  • Prepare check payments/bank transfers for advances approved by the budget holders and supported by the necessary documents.
  • Write and issue checks to the name of authorized payee/vendors.
  • Prepare payment voucher, cash receipts vouchers, and make journal entry after securing the necessary supporting documentation and per PIE policies and procedures
  • Facilitate all transfer to suppliers, partners and other stake holders as required.
  • Ensure all WWA Financial documents are kept properly.
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed
  • Avail all cash request of WWA team and pay without any significant delay to the intended purpose as per the approval from the program manager.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • ·  A minimum of BA degree in Accounting/Business Management & related fields.
  • ·   Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills; both in English & Amharic
  • Ability to initiate and organize work while establishing priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment to meet deadlines with attention to detail;

Early Childhood Development Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations
  • Record, monitor, review and report incidents involving children and staff, and where necessary take-action to reduce risk.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and other relevant statutory requirements and guidelines.
  • Ensure the provision of a quality early childhood program which meets the needs of the children attending the Centre in line with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.
  • Manage the implementation of relevant service development and improvements in partnership with clients, the community, funding bodies and staff at a local level and Industrial park staff.
  • Ensure that all activities are managed in accordance with funding requirements, meeting government regulations, contractual obligations and National Quality Standards.
  • Ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment exists for all children as well as ensuring the health and wellbeing of each child is a priority.
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of the service including the performance of staff, the quality of care and compliance with Local, State and federal Government guidelines, policies and regulations.
  • Respond to enquiries, orientate and enrol new families and maintain proper registration.
  • Ensure that the Child Care Centre building, grounds and equipment are maintained to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and repair.
  • Manage the implementation of quality and risk management plans and systems and ensure that operational audits and actions are undertaken to achieve compliance with relevant service standards.
  • Ensure the maintenance of legislated rights to confidentiality and privacy for children, families and staff.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality client service respecting the diversity and complexity of child and family needs in accordance with relevant service standards and government regulations
  • Actively liaise with both internal and external services and networks to ensure the service is well placed within the early childhood profession.
  • Establish sound working relations with key stakeholders (government and non-government)
  • Maintain effective monitoring systems to identify changes in children’s needs and report on emerging gaps within current project.
  • Organize in relevant staff recruitment, induction, training and supervision.
  • Prepare and timely submit quality periodic (and where applicable, situation/status reports) project reports to management as per donor requirements and the project monitoring & evaluation plan
  • Prepare government reports as per the template provided;
  • Support community-managed play-based, gender responsive early learning opportunities for children
  • Facilitate links between community-based programs and formal pre-primary and primary services including resources, oversight and support to formal and community-based ECD.
  • Establish process for licensing and certification and develop and implement communication and dissemination plan to promote service to workers and HIP Investors

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Social sciences, Social Work, Environmental Health, Public Health, or another related field
  • 5 years of total experience from which least 2- 3 years of professional experience in implementation of ECD or ECD-related interventions/programs

3. Program Area Manager Plan International Jobs in Ethiopia 2023

Program Area Manager responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the PA program operations:
  • Lead the development of the PA strategy, based on the Country Strategy. – Operationalize the strategy through annual and quarterly plans (including budget planning) for the PA, undertake quarterly participatory review of the plans and budget and share quarterly report.
  • Ensure staff ownership and monitor progress against the strategy
  • Participate in project developments to ensure proper and realistic project design and budget planning, including properly phased budgets.
  • Closely support and monitor project staff to deliver project activities and utilize the budget in a timely manner; lead PA level Project Internal Review (PIR) meetings and support the development of adjusted work plans and re-alignment of budgets in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that PMERL data are uploaded regularly,
  • Ensure procurement plan and cash forecasts are prepared and utilized efficiently. 

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Development studies, International Relations, Gender studies or similar field and
  • at least 10 years’ experience (not necessarily gained in an NGO or INGO), or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively on area of expertise, and influence others to reach common goals. 
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across a network.
  • Demonstrated experience in management of at least two of the thematic areas as per the Country Strategy, in both development and humanitarian context.

Requirements and skills

  • Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships at different levels, from informal community structures and CBOs, to large INGOs, UN agencies and multilateral donors.
  • Demonstrated experience of operational and programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at regional and community level.
  • Knowledge of regional context; the operating environment and factors affecting child-poverty in the country and the political, social and environmental opportunities for change is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the requirements of donor compliance and financial management
